Legal Redress Committee

The Legal Redress Committee investigates discrimination complaints, oversees litigation in which the branch is interested and communicates with the National Office and Branch members on the progression of discrimination cases.  The Legal Redress Committee does not give general legal advice.

Current Initiatives:

  • Finding legal representation for civil rights complainants
  • Curbing excessive use of force by law enforcement officers
  • Providing ex-offenders with resources for community reentry
  • Combating sexual harassment in employment and housing

 

Discrimination Complaint

If you believe you have been unlawfully discriminated against in Washington, DC, please complete this Legal Redress Complaint Form.  Your answers are confidential.  An attorney is available at the branch office on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, between the hours of 12:00pm and 4:00pm. A complaint form must be completed and submitted prior to meeting with an attorney. The branch office is located at 1000 U Street, NW, Suite 100.
